Carriage Loft — Quiet Retreat, Sheridan WY

Some places in Sheridan put you in the middle of the noise. The Carriage Loft does the opposite — it gives you a private, brand-new loft tucked down a gravel drive on the quiet side of town, where the only thing you'll hear at night is the wind off the Bighorns and, if your window's open, Big Goose Creek a short walk away.

You have the whole loft to yourself. Pull in, park (free, room for two vehicles), and let yourself in with your own keypad code — no front desk, no waiting, no host hovering. Upstairs is your retreat: a king bed under two big windows you can throw open for natural light, a queen sleeper sofa, a real desk for the workday, and an entertainment center for the wind-down. Downstairs opens up wide — a spacious, contemporary kitchen with a coffee bar guests genuinely write home about, a dining area, and a full bath. Each floor runs its own heating and cooling, so you set your own climate exactly where you like it.

And then there's the location. You're a short, flat walk from Kendrick Park (yes, the ice-cream stand in the park is real, and it's about five minutes on foot), the bike path, and Big Goose Creek. Historic downtown Sheridan — the Mint Bar, King's Saddlery, Black Tooth Brewing, the WYO Theater, and a row of restaurants that punch well above a town this size — is under a 15-minute stroll. Come back, kick your boots off, and the quiet is waiting for you.

The Carriage Loft is managed by Wyo Stays, Sheridan's licensed boutique hospitality team. That means a real local crew that knows the home by name, answers fast, and treats your stay like the reason we exist. Have a question, a special occasion, or a request before you arrive? Message us — we'd genuinely love to host you.

“My stay was fantastic. The loft was even better than described — immaculately clean and incredibly comfortable, and I especially appreciated the thoughtful touch of the coffee bar.” — Shannon, Casper, WY

Step inside and the layout just makes sense. This is a true two-story loft, and the split is the whole charm of it: live and sleep upstairs, cook and gather downstairs.

The main floor greets you first — open, contemporary, and more spacious than you expect from the outside. It's where you'll make coffee in the morning, spread out a meal, and plan the day. Then you head up to your own private floor: the bed, the sofa, the workspace, and those two big windows that flood the room with Wyoming light. Guests consistently tell us the upstairs-down-stairs separation is exactly why the place feels so open and so restful.

“It was great having the bedroom upstairs — it allowed a lot of open space on the bottom floor in the kitchen and bathroom area. The internet worked perfectly for my husband to work online.” — Martina, Rising Sun, IN

Availability may vary. Send us a message with any questions or special requests!

It's a true two-story loft. Your bedroom and living space are upstairs; the bathroom and kitchen are on the main floor. We mention it up front so there are no surprises — many guests love the separation (it's why the place feels so open), and we keep the stairway well lit. If a single-level layout matters for your trip, message us and we'll point you to another Wyo Stays home that fits.

Private, but shared driveway. The loft sits behind the owner's residence down a shared gravel drive. You have your own entrance and parking for two — we just ask for easy, considerate coming and going.

Independent climate per floor. Each floor has its own heating and cooling. If one floor feels off, the other thermostat is the fix — details in the house manual.

Stocked and ready. Coffee bar, fresh linens, and the essentials are set before you arrive. Want the fridge stocked too? Ask about grocery delivery.
