Gone Fishin' — Private Hot Tub, Pet-Friendly Cabin, Story WY

Some places you visit. This one you feel.
Tucked into the quiet mountain community of Story, Wyoming, Gone Fishin’ is the kind of getaway that makes you forget what day it is—and that’s exactly the point. There’s no pretense here, no marble countertops or concierge desks. What you’ll find is a warm, comfortable home with a private indoor hot tub, ready for a soak year-round, whatever the weather.

You’ll wake up to the sound of birds instead of alarms. You’ll sip your morning coffee on the porch while deer wander through the neighborhood like they own the place (they do). You’ll fire up the BBQ, let the kids chase the dog around the yard, watch the Bighorn Mountains turn gold at sunset, then end the night in the hot tub.

This is a 3-bedroom retreat that sleeps six comfortably, with an open living space that makes it easy for everyone to be together without being on top of each other. The garage has been converted into a lounge area—your own private space to relax with the hot tub just steps away.

Story is a tiny town with a big heart, just 20 minutes from downtown Sheridan and minutes from some of the best fly fishing, hiking, and mountain scenery in Wyoming. Whether you’re here for an anniversary, a family reunion, a hunting trip, or just because you need a week away from everything—this is the place.
Bring your dog. Bring your fishing rod. Leave your stress at the state line.

Message us to start planning your stay—we’re a small team at Wyo Stays, and we genuinely care about making your trip something you’ll talk about long after you’ve gone home.

Step inside and you’ll find a straightforward, comfortable home that’s been set up to make your stay feel effortless. The layout is open and easy—a kitchen, dining area, and living room that all flow together, so whether you’re cooking breakfast or gathering for a movie night, everyone’s part of the moment.

The front door opens into the main living area, with the master bedroom to your right. Walk past the kitchen and dining space and you’ll find the second bedroom and a bunk room just beyond—ideal for kids, hunting buddies, or anyone who draws the short straw. An air mattress is available if you need to squeeze in one more. One full bathroom serves the home, and it’s been stocked with everything you’ll need.

Now for the best part: step through the door off the kitchen and you’ll enter the garage lounge—a converted space that houses your private hot tub. After a day of hiking, fishing, or simply doing nothing at all, this is where the night begins. Soak in the private indoor hot tub year-round, let the tension leave your shoulders, and remind yourself why you came here in the first place.

Out back, you’ve got a yard with space for kids and pets to roam, a BBQ grill for those perfect summer dinners, and the kind of quiet that makes you realize how noisy your normal life actually is.

A few things to know so your stay goes smoothly:
The home is heated primarily by propane. Please do not adjust thermostats or use the electric baseboard heating—the provided fireplaces and heating units will keep you comfortable, even on the coldest Wyoming nights.

The property is on well and septic. The well water is safe to use, but if you prefer bottled water, feel free to bring your own. Please flush only toilet paper—nothing else.

This is a strictly non-smoking property. A $300 cleaning fee applies for any smoking or vaping anywhere on the premises, inside or out.
Quiet hours begin at 10 PM. Story is a peaceful community, and your neighbors appreciate it staying that way. Keep music low and voices down after hours.
Pets are welcome with prior approval at $25 per pet, per day. We ask that pets stay off the furniture and that you clean up after them, including the yard. A $300 fee may apply for any pet mess left behind.

Park in the driveway only. If you’re bringing a trailer, there’s space—just pull in and you’re set.
The cancellation policy is strictly enforced. Please review it before booking to avoid any surprises.
